Design Tech

This week on design tech we have been trying to learn how to make a key chain, We have also been making our designs for the key chain. Next time we go here we might be lazering our prints. I made my key chain with my name on it and put some designs on the side I chose the colour to be clear so I could see through it. So far I like my design for my key chain and I hope that it turns out good after the lazering. I might be posting the end results soon.

The Present

Reflection - 

I am reflecting on a film called “The Present” here is my reflection of what happened and why I think he liked the dog at the end.

The boy didn’t like the dog because it was like him, And he wanted to play his games in the dark so he neglected the dog but the dog wanted to play. The dog was very playful and he was also curious and a bit clumsy. The dog kept on pushing and pushing the boy to play with him but the boy kept on ignoring him. As he started looking more at the dog he started liking the dog because of its qualities and it was alright that the dog looked like him, he stood up and got his crutches and walked outside, The dog finally managed to get the boy outside. I think the boy liked the dog because the dog had fun even though he had a leg missing, So I think that the dog made him realise that it was okay to have fun and go outside even if you have any difficulties and its okay to be different. 

Reading Activity

The title of the text was called Dive, The author of the story is Gina Cole. It is a book about a girl having a vacation and accidentally dropped her phone in the water, After she dropped it she realised that she can do without her phone. There are other  events that happened. I really like the story because it had a lot of events happening.

Hi Today we are going to be talking about "We Are Stars" it is an animation talking about how us humans were created.

Some things that I learnt from watching the animation were that we are made of stars, We were made from the dust of stars.

Also the first couple that existed were Hydrogen and Helium, They formed together and made the first atom.

Most molecules use planets as their safe place, They can also create more molecules in planets.

New Zealand Languages - Working From home

Hello, Today we are going to be talking about the 3 official languages of New Zealand and what they mean, They are English, Maori and Sign language. 

English - The English language is one of the most commonly used language around the world, It was created in the 5th century AD. England was the first ever country to speak the English language.

Maori - Maori language was the first language of New Zealand, The language was found in 1987. It was created by the people who first lived in New Zealand.

Sign - Sign language is commonly used for people who can't speak or hear. You use visual hand movements to make certain sentences. Sign language was created in 1817.

Today we are going to be talking about The Great Realisation by Tomos Roberts.

It is about Covid 19 and it talks about how humans have changed since the virus.
Before the virus hit us we didn't realise how much time apart we spent with our families, We didn't get to spend time with each other because of work and our devices. The oceans filled with garbage and air with pollution. We drove in cars but barely walked, But then a virus hit and we had no choice but to stay inside. We all started talking with our families and enjoying runs around the field or street. The beaches started to clear and and so did the air, The earth could finally take a break. As bad things happened people didn't notice all the good things. But once we found the cure and we could finally go outside we changed. We realised that we were the virus to our earth.

Ends Meat Weekly Menu - Working From Home

This week I've been doing our Making Ends Meet challenge, I made a weekly menu and priced the items in my menu,I then added the prices up and added the total. The weekly menu is for ideas on what you could have for breakfast, lunch or dinner and how much you may spend on a meal.

Covid-19 level 2 lock down NZ - Working from home

- People will not be allowed to make contact with strangers only.

- When we will be moving to level they will try to get as much people back to work.

- Wearing the right equipment when outside.

- Washing you hands after going outside and cleaning yourself.

- Trying not to touch as much stuff or not letting other people your stuff.

- You will be allowed to go to family and friends house but just in small amounts of people.

- If schools are planning to open they must open the following week of when they have announced it.

- Stores may start to open.

I like that you will now be able to visit family and friends I also like the fact that stores may be opening again so people who need certain things can buy they're needs . School may be opening again and I like that they are doing it the following week of the announcement instead of just immediately to make sure nothing would happen if the school started. The only downside about level 2 lock down is that there may be a lot of people going out to malls and meeting they're family members and friends.

Story -

One eery night 3 friends Julie, Rae & Zack decided to go camping in a forest in the middle of nowhere. After hours and hours of driving to their location they decided to take a break at the side of the road merely away from the forest, as they were falling asleep Julie heard a whisper coming from outside of the car, She thought to herself that it was probably just her from all the hours of driving she must’ve just been hearing things, right?Morning struck and they were on the road again. As they were jamming to some music from the radio Julie remembered the whisper she heard last night, she quickly got it out of her head thinking she was just hallucinating last night. After an hour of driving they finally arrived to the forest. They decided to set up the camp, After hours and hours of setting up camp they were drained. As soon as the tents were set up they slept immediately until morning came. They woke up to the sun beaming into their eyes blinding them, Julie put her hat on and went outside to go and wake up her friends. After they were all awake they had some breakfast, But Julie heard the whisper again, this time coming from deep inside the woods, She quickly looked behind her, No one was there. Rae called her name repeatedly but Julie seemed to not hear her shouting her name, Rae tapped Julie's shoulder and it gave Julie quite a fright. As the hours passed night came and it was time to go to bed, As they were about to sleep Zack came to Julie and Rae’s tent. He woke them up and asked if they wanted to go with him and look around the forest, They both said yes. As they walked inside the forest Julie felt a chilling feeling, She looked at Zack and Rae and they also seemed to get the same feeling. They walked deeper and deeper…. Suddenly they heard a rustling in the forest, 3 of them came closer together and they felt as if someone was watching their every move. As they looked around Julie saw something from the corner of her eye, It was terrifying, It had a black foggy body and It had red beady eyes that looked as if you looked at it, it would stare straight into your soul. We desperately ran barely breathing, We screamed at the top of our lungs but it was no use, we were in the middle of nowhere not knowing where to go. As I looked to the left 1 of my friends had disappeared, I had no choice but to keep running. Julie stopped and hid behind a nearby rock and gasped for air. Julie looked to the right and saw Zack running past her, Julie couldn't help him because the creature was right behind him… The creature grabbed Zack and he suddenly disappeared, Julie covered her mouth to keep her from making any noise. While the creature was busy Julie took her chance and ran for her life, She saw smoke coming from the distance, It must be our campfire!  Julie ran and ran, she finally made it back, she felt relieved when she got out of the forest but didn't stop, instead grabbed her phone to call emergency services, As she waited for them to pick up she locked herself in the car. They finally picked up, she reported what happened, good thing the police station was only an hour away. She looked back to the forest and saw the creature looking straight at her, But the creature seemed to not be able to pass the forest. She sighed in relief and took a rest in her car. She woke up to sirens coming, She ran out of her car, It seemed like nobody noticed her, She shouted and shouted but no one heard her. She walked in front of someone but the person walked right into her, She started to panic and looked at her reflection in the side mirror of a car, But she couldn't see her reflection, It was then that she realised she was dead.
